backup imap email account with thunderbird or imapsize

Henrik Gemal at gemal.dk writes a step by step instructions on how to back up your imap emails using thunderbird:

alternatively, an imap utility called imapsize can do some backing up too:

[Update]

I looked through Henrik’s instructions for using another Thunderbird account to do a backup, and went through the first few steps. The process is a bit involved, and I didn’t have time to get to the end. Later I tried out ImapSize, and wow, that was easy. It’s doing a backup right now, after taking only about 5 minutes to set it up. Now that’s more like it. 🙂
